Ethnography as Drunken Fist Kung Fu (Ernesto Schwartz Marin)

Ethnography as Drunken Kung Fu Fist explores the concept of ethnography through the lens of the ancient martial art of Drunken Kung Fu Fist. Using anime (Avatar the last Airbender) and kung fu movies (Jackie Chan as drunken kung fu master) as inspiration we engage with the fluidity, adaptability, and unpredictability of ethnography to explain why and how it provides a unique way of understanding and interpreting different cultures and societies. We explore the Drunken Kung Fu Fist ethnography in our collective work in Nepal, Mexico and Chile.
